About Protean Fitness
Built to adapt. Coached for life.
Protean Fitness exists to help people build strength, health and capability that last, through training that adapts as life does.
Meet Coach Andy
My career in health and wellness began in the supplement industry, where I spent four years learning about performance nutrition and seeing how often people were sold isolated solutions to much bigger problems. I went on to spend more than a decade as a personal trainer in Washington, D.C., working with clients of different ages, abilities and goals. Across 18 years of coaching, my work expanded beyond workouts to include corrective exercise, mobility, nutrition, recovery and the everyday habits that make progress sustainable.
That experience taught me that people rarely fail because they do not care or are not working hard enough. More often, the plan fails to account for the reality of their lives. Bodies change. Schedules change. Goals change. Training should be structured enough to create progress, but adaptable enough to keep working when life does not go according to plan. That belief became the foundation of the Protean Method.
I built Protean Fitness to give people more than another program to complete and leave behind. Whether someone trains independently through the Method or works with me directly, the goal is the same: to build lasting strength, health and capability—and the knowledge and confidence to keep moving forward as life changes.
